Pharrell Williams Debuts New Eco-Friendly Fashion Line
By Nadia Noir
It’s New York Fashion Week and who better than the funky Pharrell Williams to bring fashion (with a cause!) to the masses. Wearing the infamous Vivienne Westwood hat that had everyone at the Grammys talking, Williams debuted his new fashion line: RAW for the Oceans with G-Star.
Raw for the Oceans uses an oceans-worth of littered plastic to create a Bionic Yarn which is used as thread for eco-friendly jeans.
“Working with G-Star was an obvious choice, because they have a legacy of pushing the boundaries of fashion and denim forward,” said Williams to the press. “Bionic Yarn is a company built around performance, and denim is the perfect category to show the world what Bionic Yarn can do. Everyone has jeans in their closet.”
Williams’ eco-conscious collection will hit stores on August 15.
