Today, Metro and the Federal Transit Administration announced a $670-million federal grant and a $160-million federally backed loan for what they are calling the Federal Connector light rail project.
To keep it simple, construction will begin this year that will help create an even better public transit system for the city of Los Angeles. It will bring together the Blue Line, Expo Line and Gold Line with tracks between 7th/Metro Center and Little Toykyo.
What that will do, is make it so you do not have to transfer to another line while traveling through downtown. Not only is this project creating new jobs for the city, it’s helping to make traveling through it that much easier. Anything to help with traffic, right?
The expected completion for this project is 2020, not bad for such a huge undertaking.
