26-year-old Dutch DJ, Nick van De Wall, is best known by his international EDM superstar name: Afrojack. Despite his young age, Afrojack has worked with everyone from the likes of David Guetta, Madonna, Chris Brown, Pitbull, and Beyonce.
His globally-recognized sound with songs like 2011’s hit “Take Over Control” made Afrojack one of the biggest club superstars in the world and has garnered him everything from performances at the hottest music festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, and Ultra Music Festival, but also made him one of the first ever DJs to sign a residency deal in Las Vegas.
He’s also the first DJ in history to ever ring the closing bell at the NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange and according to finance magazine Forbes, Afrojack is a power player in the EDM world, coming in at #7 on The World’s Highest Paid DJs List. Basically, he’s a baller.
Like many other musical powerhouses that have come before him, Afrojack will also be trying his hand at fashion this year with a partnership with fashion label, G-Star Raw and gaming company, Raw.
Owning his own imprint label called Wall Recordings, Afrojack has been honored with his hand prints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; he’s the second-ever DJ to accomplish this. Coming up, the star will have another Las Vegas residency at Hakkasan and will release his debut album with Island Records in May.
Despite all this success, Afrojack has only released EPs; this will be the musician’s first foray into a full-length and on the heels of his release of “Ten Feet Tall,” it will be one of the most highly-anticipated releases of 2014. With a headlining slot at Ultra Music Festival this year and an awesome upcoming performance at AMPLIFY, 2014 proves to be Afrojack’s best year yet.
