Set the controls for the heart of the rave: Skrillex is ready to rock North American fans on “The Mothership Tour.”
The bespectacled DJ/producer with music’s most distinctive haircut will roll across out fair continent hitting festivals, outdoor sheds and more from the Atlantic to the Pacific, launching later this week in Austin, Texas, for SXSW. From there he’ll hit Miami Music Week and the Ultra Music Festival, where he’ll team up with super-producer Diplo for the duo’s debut as Jack U. After performing at both weekends of Coachella in April, he’ll hit the Midwest before ending up with a two-night stand at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheater on June 20-21.
According to a press release, Skrillex will be on joined on the Red Bull-sponsored tour by such EDM favorites as “Taco Bell enthusiast” Dillon Francis, What So Not. GRAMMY-nominated DJ Snake and Los Angeles-based duo, Milo & Otis. The Red Rocks dates will also feature “an expanded, special line-up to be revealed soon.”
As if that wasn’t enough to get fans fired up, Skrillex has also released a mysterious new app/game title Alien Ride. It comes with 11 hidden items and countdown clock set to later today (March 10). Could the countdown be leading up to the reveal of Skrillex’s debut album? Only time will tell.
