noel Coachella Fashion: A Digital Diary

Coachella this year was Clueless and Dazed and Confused…and not just because of the killer Indio sun that scrambled our brains into a blissful mush as we bounced it out to Krewella (some of our fashion icons) in the Sahara tent.

Styles this year were either super ’90s with lemon-lime sorbet hair, alien backpacks, Lisa Frank accessories, tie-dye, and mix-and-match patterns, or ’90s meets ’60s, “Groove Is In The Heart” Dee-Lite style. It was an awesome break from boho chic, bandage dresses, and floral/feather headdresses, although we did lust after some subtly stylish ones.

We went out with our iPhone to capture some of the cutest Coachella couture. Check out some of our stylish finds.

This girl was one of our favorites of the Festie. We saw her traipsing around different shows, dancing by herself, with a perpetual smile. We call her look “Goddess Ghost World” because she looks like a character from the cult ’90s film with her blunt-cut medium length hair and funky ’60s Catwoman glasses. Her crop top, thin pattered flare pants, and super sweet sandals mixed with carefully-curated accessories and dewy skin make us wonder if she’s a teenage fashion blogger from Rookie. She’s awesome.

This girl wafted in through the main gates looking like a gorgeous ’90s fairy creature. Her blend of cultural cues and fashion trends were on point from her patterned maxi-skirt, round sunglasses (THE look at Coachella this year), floppy hats with funky buttons, green hair, and the coolest Valfre muscle tee. What a cutie!

sufia Coachella Fashion: A Digital Diary

Our friend Sufia is awesome and always has great style, but we especially loved her sequined jewel-tone patterned crop top that she combined with a sheer black maxi skirt. With her sun-kissed make-up look, sleek hair, and arm candy, Sufia was rocking a sexy, understated look that could be pulled off anywhere. Not just Coachella.

Just looking at this girl made us feel refreshed. She made us rethink pink in a plethora of ways. Her ’90s technicolor hot pink shorts combined with bright pink sneakers, bright pink lipstick, and a watermelon was super refreshing. An expertly coiffed top bun and another pair of those ubiquitous circle sunglasses really rounded out the look (literally).

This girl said she didn’t know how to pose, but we think she’s doing a great job of showing off her amazingly awesome style. A polka dot primary-colored ’60s-style dress plays perfectly off her round sunglasses and heat-saving braids. Black boots are stylish, but totally comfy. And to break up all the roundness, this fashionable festival goer broke up the look with a giant studded dog purse. So quintessentially ’60s meets ’90s. We love it.

Our photography skills in the sun with an iphone aren’t the best, but this girl’s outfit was flawless. She was wearing another pair of brightly-colored flared pants (the preferred pant look of Coachella), a sheer crop top with a zip down the back, and a super cool vintage ’90s backpack. She had great cateye eyeliner under her, yes, round sunglasses. But our favorite part of her look was her quirky-cool flamingo necklace.

And our favorite look of the festival goes to this girl, who looked like she was fresh from the spa with her ’60s-style graphic shift, black-and-white Chanel-style purse, chic gladiator sandals, and sleek ponytail and rose-topped sunglasses.
