MUSEUM: AWKWARD FAMILY PHOTOS EXHIBIT
Wickedly funny blog, and viral sensation, Awkward Family Photos, unearthed some of the strangest family photographs ever taken. The wacky and uncomfortable poses, hilarious hairdo pairings, and ridiculous matching outfits of these unusual family portraits, have provided viewers with countless hours of shameless amusement. If you can’t seem to get enough of those weird wedding pictures and humorously hokey holiday photographs, you can now catch them on display Wednesday through Sunday 11:00 am – 4:00pm at the California Heritage Museum’s Awkward Family Photos exhibit.

EVENTS: ATWATER VILLAGE BEER, WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL
Los Angeles’ best food trucks, and micro-breweries, are throwing down some of their finest grub and hops at the Atwater Village Beer, Wine and Food Festival. This year’s festival boasts the bomb bites of The Kogi Truck,The Grilled Cheese Truck, and Cousins Main Lobster. Pair these munchies with tastings of bad-ass brewskis from local breweries like Bootleggers, Golden Road, The Dudes’ and more. Attendees will also have a chance to sample incredible local and imported wines. For the serious aficionado, a VIP ticket offers up early access to the festival, unlimited tastings of beer or wine and dibs on the wine cellar at 55 Degree Wine. The artist/photographer will be creating an original hand drawn window display at BCBG Century City where fans and fashionistas will have a chance to meet and great the lovely lady. EVENTS: LEBOWSKI FEST BOWLING PARTY
Many of the Coen Brothers’ films are revered for their hilariously brutal and ironic brand of film noir but it is their 1998 classic,The Big Lebowski, that holds court as the magnum opus of their comedic crime capers. The film has since gained a legion of cult followers, spawned packed midnight screenings, and a new religion based on the film’s most memorable character, “The Dude.” On April 25th and 26th, devout fans in Los Angeles will gather to celebrate the film at Lebowksi Fest 2014 with a movie screening and a bowling tribute at the Fountain Bowl. Sadly, tickets to this year’s movie party are already sold out but the infamously rowdy bowling event is still up for grabs. Lucha Va Voom is no-holds-barred spectacle that brings Mexican masked wrestling, comedy and burlesque dancers together for a night of rambunctious and raunchy ring-side entertainment. Jack Black and Patton Oswald have dropped in to provide the laughs. Lucha Va Voom’s Cinco De Mayan show at the Mayan theater will bring you twin comedians the Sklar brothers rib-tickling commentary and a full roster of crazy and colorful luchadores like “Chupacabra” and “Dirty Sanchez.” Lucha Va Voom’s Cinco De Mayan is guaranteed to be a riotous night of high-flying, body slamming, tassel twirls and foul funnies. FOOD: MAC AND CHEEZE TAKE DOWN
Pig out on oodles and oodles of cheesy curled noodles on April 27th at the Bootleg Theater as amateur chefs face off and take macaroni and cheese to the next level. Taste the creative concoctions of these bold competitors as they go for hundreds of dollars in prizes and rep their mac and cheese skills. If you’re hopelessly in love with classic all-American comfort food, then you’ll definitely dig on this cook-off. EVENTS: FIESTA BROADWAY
You don’t have to wait for May to get your “Cinco de Mayo” fiesta on. Every year, the celebration comes early via Fiesta Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. Thousands of native Angelenos come out to celebrate Latino culture with traditional food, live music, crafts and of course dancing. One of the nation’s largest celebrations of Hispanic heritage, this festival covers approximately 24 square-blocks of downtown asphalt and brings free-family-fun for all on April 27th from 11:00 am to 6:00pm.
