We first told you about Kwasi Enin about a month ago. The high school senior was accepted to all eight Ivy League universities thanks to his impressive test scores, grades, and resume.
May 1 was the deadline to commit to a college, and to commemorate the exciting day, Enin pulled a LeBron James, announcing his decision during a press conference in the gym at William Floyd High School.
So which prestigious university did he choose? Drumroll please…Yale!
Enin decided to attend Yale University after visiting the campus.
“My Bull Dog Days experience last week was incredible,” he said. “I met geniuses from all across the world. And everyone there was so friendly and inviting. … And I believe that their deep appreciation and love for music, like I have, was very critical for me deciding to go there.”
Besides stellar grades, Enin also plays for the chamber orchestra, has earned lead roles in the school plays since ninth grade, sings in an a cappella group, competes in shot put and discus for the track and field team, and takes part in student government. Seriously, does he even have time for sleeping and eating?!
Enin does not plan to major in music. Instead, he’s going down the pre-med path.
“I really liked their sense of family, relationships between undergraduates and professors, and the residential college,” he said of Yale earlier this month. “They also have a strong biomedical engineering program, which is a wonderful combination of biology and creative tools that doctors and health care professionals can use.”
