Call the Beygency: Monica Lewinsky Corrects Beyonce Lyric

You might remember her as a handbag designer who once teamed with MTV funny man Tom Green to establish Ottawa, Canada, as “the fabric capital of the universe.”

Or there was also that business with the President of the United States. Some fabric was involved there, in the form of a blue dress.

But whatever the reason you remember her, Monica Lewinsky is back, with an explosive essay in the new Vanity Fair. In it, she hits on a few subjects, including her difficulty in finding a job (apparently, her “history” has been something of a problem), certain right wing news aggregators (“Thanks to the Drudge Report, I was also possibly the first person whose global humiliation was driven by the Internet”), and her efforts to use┬áher experiences to help other victims of harassment.

That’s all well and good, but she may have to watch her own back, because the Beygency might be on her tail. Yes, she dared to correct Beyonce. Beyonce’s lyrics, specifically from “Partition,” where the Queen sings, “He bucked all my buttons, he ripped my blouse/He Monica Lewinsky all on my gown.”
