Over the weekend we made it out to Santa Anita Park to take on the Ford Eco Boost Challenge.  I’m telling you, I’m almost Pro (not really).  This was the second year taking the challenge and once again I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Ford and HD Radio for letting me race around the Santa Anita parking lot in the Ford Fiesta ST.  Yes, I can drive a manual!

After taking a few pointers from one of the professional drivers of the “ST Performance Academy” and getting in the proper mind set to get the best possible time in the history of the Ford Eco Boost Challenge, I was ready to go.  Well, also add in running in place, some jumping jacks and push-ups…..then yes I was ready to go………oh and add in I needed the proper driving music.  Each Ford comes equipped with HD Radio it’s all free with no subscription and it gives you more stations in digital sound.  Bam..radio set to 97.1 AMP Radio…..now I was ready to go.

With my driving gloves on and my Go Pro set I made my way around the first corner of the track.  The handling of the Ford Fiesta ST is amazing.   Nothing but smooth sailing and snug tight turns combined with a lot of horsepower makes for an unforgettable need for speed kind of ride.  I don’t know much about cars, but what I do know is that this ride was easy to handle when breaking and accelerating around the timed course.  After a few attempts on the track my best time came to 33.923 seconds.

Am I Pro? Well not just yet, but I did have a blast.  I say take the Ford Eco Boost challenge and see if you can DO better.  To find out more head to www.ecoboostdrive.com
