Metta World Peace Teaching Basketball At Palisades Charter High School

Ron Artest a/k/a Metta World Peace will bring all the skills he learned while on the Lakers and use to teach girls basketball at Palisades Charter High School.

According to LAist, World Peace won’t even be the head coach. He’ll be assisting Dolphins (the Palisades’ high mascot) head coach Torino Johnson who worked with World Peace’s daughter a few years ago.

“No one else that I know of in high school basketball has this opportunity, where they have a current NBA veteran on their coaching staff who can divulge that expertise,” Coach Johnson said. “It’s kind of all hands on deck for us and we’re very fortunate and excited about him wanting to be a presence in our program.”

World Peace is no longer on the New York Knicks but he hasn’t retired so time will tell just how much coaching he will be doing.

Johnson said via Twitter that he will be helping “in addition 2 his NBA duties.”
