He plays a musician who just got his big break, which isn’t a huge stretch for the Maroon 5 front man, but he was still humbled by the experience.
“And then there’s the fact that I’m in this movie with amazing actors,” he told Booker earlier this month. “I’m a fan of every single person. I couldn’t have handpicked a group of people I love and respect. It’s kind of dream-esque and I’m very lucky. I know it sounds like I’m being extra humble or something, but, I kind of am. Listen, I’m not that humble about music, but I’m very humble about acting because I don’t know how to do it yet.”
Mr. Levine is featured on the soundtrack, singing an acoustic version of the original song “Lost Stars.”
