The Fourth of July doesn’t go down until Friday, but that didn’t stop Amy Adams from granting a patriotic random act of kindness to one of our brave soldiers.
The actress was spotted giving up her first class seat on a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles so that a uniformed soldier could sit up front in style.
Adams attempted to keep her act of generosity on the down low, but Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN2’s Numbers Never Lie, broke the news on Twitter.
“When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with,” Hill described in an email to Today.com from the flight. “Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class. I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me. I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”
The five-time Oscar nominee was beyond gracious, telling Inside Edition after she landed at LAX, “I didn’t do it for attention for myself. I did it for attention for the Troops.”
