Lil Jon is the Face of the Youth Vote in ‘Turn Out for What’ Rock the Vote Video: Watch

How do you actually get people to turn out and vote this fall? Simple: you get Lil Jon to yell at people until they do so — unwillingly or otherwise.

The rapper is the face of a new Rock the Vote video that takes inspiration from his hit “Turn Down for What” song with DJ Snake. Morphed into a voting awareness tune, the result is “Turn Out for What.”

And “what,” exactly, should one turn out for? Besides a healthy handful of celebrity cameos from Whoopi Goldberg to Lena Dunham, each person in the three-minute clip describes their cause in the upcoming election season — including human rights, prison reform and, in the case of Lil Jon himself, the legalization of marijuana. He proceeds to attempt to smoke the largest blunt you’ve probably ever handled.

Naturally, the video is mostly set to “Turn Down for What” — with Lil Jon replacing lyrics to get folks into the voting booth. Will it work? Anyone’s guess, but if you’re down with Lil Jon jumping and dancing from being a podium while demanding that you vote, plus tons of really awful/great dancing, you’ll at least dig the video.
