Drunk Mode App Creator Talks To Carson Daly

By Sarah Carroll

Did you party a little too hard this weekend? Wake up the next morning without your wallet and a phone full of regrettable drunk texts?

Thanks to modern technology, you don’t have to suffer any longer!

When University of Virginia student Joshua Anton got drunk dialed by one of his crushes, he came up with the ingenious idea to create an app that aims to stop you before you embarrass yourself.

It’s called Drunk Mode and Joshua called in earlier this morning to tell Carson Daly all about it. Take a listen:

Here are the four main features you need to know:

1) Find My Drunk: Lost track of your drunk friends? Or maybe you’re the designated driver and need to find your buddies before they attempt to hitch hike home? Find My Drunk allows you to share your GPS location with your friends. Simply open up the map to find out where they wandered off to.

2) Breadcrumbs: Maybe you were the one who drank a little too much and woke up the next morning without your purse. If you activate the Breadcrumbs feature before going out, it will log your own GPS locations throughout the night so you can retrace your steps.

3) No more drunk dials: Drunk Mode allows you to block certain phone contacts for up to 12 hours so you won’t be able to send them any ill-advised messages during a crazy night out. You can unlock the the feature by solving a simple math problem.

4) Find a ride: Don’t have a DD? Not a problem! Drunk Mode will help you get home safely by pairing you up with the closest available Uber driver.

Drunk Mode is available to download for free on Apple and Android devices.
