Zedd on Kesha: “The One Thing I Could Do to Help was to Make Music With Her”

Last night, Zedd dropped his track with Kesha, a long awaited musical collab that happened during a crucial time in Kesha’s career.

The internet was buzzing, as the powerful lyrics and awesome beat blasted through speakers, giving a very strong message from the singer about her current state of mind.

So how did this come about?

Back in February, Zedd sent his support to Kesha when news had hit about her current legal battles, offering to produce a song for her if she wanted.

“I read about her story online, I didn’t think much aside from sending her a tweet because I didn’t know her or how to get in touch with her. I just said, you know, that I feel very bad and sorry for her situation and the one thing I can do to help is to make music with her. That’s what I offered.”

Her team then reached out to him to see if he was serious, and of course, he was.

They got started with planning their performance at Coachella, and changed some of the lyrics to the song which really made it her own, with no real intentions of putting the track out as a single.

“We started recording the song without really thinking we could release it because of the whole legal situation. We just made it because we wanted to record music. Sometimes as an artist it just feels good to make music…It was kind of a miracle that we were able to put this out. “

Thankfully they were allowed, and so they officially released it.

“I’m¬†really happy that the world is able to hear the song. I’m super super happy she’s able to got her voice back and release music.”
