The Emmy nominations are out and no surprises here…HBO blew away the rest of the competition with 94 nominations.

But there were definitely some major snubs we’re all talking about this morning.

Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for her work on American Horror Story and yet she wasn’t even nominated for an Emmy!

Stephen Colbert didn’t earn a nod for his CBS late night show, but James Corden, who’s on an hour after him, managed to sneak into this year’s crop of nominees.

Carson was particularly surprised by the competition in his own category — Outstanding Reality-Competition Series. One of his favorite series, American Ninja Warrior, will be facing off against The Voice in September.

“That’s a great show,” he said. “Who knows? That could win.”

Emmy voters weren’t feeling The CW this year. The network only got five total nominations and was snubbed in all of the major acting categories.

“No nominations for CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which is supposed to be a good show,” Carson pointed out. “Jane The Virgin also won [a Golden Globe] one year; it was left out of the major comedy categories as well.”
