TARZANA (CBSLA.com) — Singer Chris Brown has been released from police custody following a confrontation with a woman at his home in Tarzana.
Brown was released from prison around 11 p.m. Tuesday after posting $250,000 bail, according to police records.
At this time, his whereabouts remain unknown.
His long-time attorney, Mark Geragos, responded to the allegations made against his client on Twitter Wednesday morning.
The singer is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20 at 8:30 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles.
Brown was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun at his home during a party.
The incident unfolded when Miss California Regional 2016 Baylee Curran refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement after viewing a piece of the singer’s jewelry, according to Entertainment Tonight.
CBS News has confirmed Curran has a 2013 complaint filed against her that involves grand larceny at the New York City Plaza Hotel. It remains unclear what the current status of that complaint is.
