The blind auditions continued last night for The Voice Season 11 with new coaches Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus giving Adam and Blake a run for their money.
A video message from Miley’s godmother, Dolly Parton, helped persuade Sophia Urista to join her team while Blake Shelton used his connection with Gwen Stefani to keep singer Ethan Tucker from joining Team Adam.
Both Blake and Miley were familiar with former child star Billy Gilman, who found himself on The Voice stage last night. He wowed the judges with his performance of Adele’s “When We Were Young”.
Carson said of Billy, “His story was crazy. He was so popular when he was 10, and then his voice changed. Now he’s making a comeback now that he’s comfortable in his own skin and he’s singing the type of music he wants to sing. He’s a strong one this year.”
Alicia Keys made Lauren Diaz’s dream come true when she was the first coach to turn their chair for Lauren’s performance of “If I Ain’t Got You”. Of course, Lauren chose Team Alicia and continued her good luck when her boyfriend proposed as soon as she left the stage.
Take a listen to what Carson had to say about Tuesday’s blind auditions below.
The Voice continues Monday and Tuesday at 8pm on NBC.
