102-Year-Old Woman Checks “Getting Arrested” Off Her Bucket List

By Sarah Carroll

A 102-year-old St. Louis woman was talk of the senior center after she was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police squad car Friday.

No, Edie Simms isn’t a dangerous fugitive…she’s just a woman with one baller bucket list.

Police happily helped her cross “getting arrested” off her checklist and when asked if she enjoyed the experience, Simms responded, “Oh yes, handcuffs and all.”

Once she arrived at the senior center, Simms delivered handmade gifts to the residents. Over the past two years, she’s made more than 400 items for them, but she’s never been able to deliver them in person…until now.

“Keep going, don’t ever stop whatever it is you’re doing and spend some time doing community service because sometimes the person you reach out and touch, is the only person that they will talk to in a day,” Simms said.
