Gigi Hadid Slammed For Melania Trump Impression At The AMAs

By Sarah Carroll

Gigi Hadid’s attempt at comedy majorly backfired Sunday night at the American Music Awards.

Social media lit up when the supermodel impersonated future First Lady Melania Trump while she was co-hosting Sunday’s show.

Hadid was poking fun at Melania’s GOP convention speech, where she was accused of plagiarizing Michelle Obama.

β€œI love my husband, President Barack Obama,” Hadid quipped in a fake Eastern European accent. β€œAnd our children, Sasha and Malia.”

The bit seemed to go over well with the audience, but some of those watching at home felt it was racist and disrespectful.

Others, including her co-host Jay Pharoah, thought Hadid’s impression was spot-on.
