Let’s first take a look at what she’s done for broadcast television. This year’s Academy Awards were the most watched entertainment telecast in three years, according to the Nielsen ratings, earning over 40 million viewers.  The singer, who took home the prize for Best Original Song, helped make this year’s Oscar telecast the second most watched since 2005, when host Chris Rock and a special tribute to Johnny Carson attracted 41.5 million viewers. Adele’s performance of her Bond theme “Skyfall” was also the second most tweeted event during the show, with 82,300 tweets-per-minute (TPM), according to Mashable. Her tear-filled acceptance speech was the fourth most tweeted-about moment with 64,000 TPM.

Last month, the new mom helped the Golden Globes garner nearly 20 million viewers and their best ratings since 2007, according to Nielsen. It was Adele’s first public appearance since giving birth in October and though she didn’t perform “Skyfall,” she did walk the red carpet, chatting about Burberry, Bond and her new baby boy.

Later she took home the prize for Best Original Song, a first for any Bond theme, beating out Taylor Swift’s “Safe And Sound” from The Hunger Games - and more importantly, proving once again that if you’re nominated in the same category as Adele, you’re going to lose.

But the Adele-factor really started last year when she helped the GRAMMYs earn their biggest numbers since the 1984 telecast when Michael Jackson took home eight awards. The singer’s triumphant return to the stage after throat surgery, plus a last-minute tribute to Whitney Houston, helped the show garner nearly 40 million viewers. The Brit also conquered the night, taking home six awards, and helped the GRAMMYs pull a slightly larger audience than the 2012 Oscars, not too shabby.

This year, Adele only took home one award (Best Pop Solo Performance, the only one she was nominated for) but still helped the GRAMMYs earn a viewership of over 28 million, making it the show’s second highest watched telecast in 10 years.

Adele doesn’t only have the power to up the viewership of nearly every awards show, she singlehandedly helped restore the music business, not just in America, but worldwide, with her 2011 album, 21. She sold 8.3 million digital copies last year alone, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), increasing the industry’s international growth for the first time in 13 years. Adele also had the biggest selling album of 2012 in the United States, making her the first person to have the No. 1 album two years in a row since Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991.

But let’s start thinking a little bigger, shall we? Why couldn’t she help a few of America’s floundering businesses and institutions?

Jimmy Kimmel’s After the Oscars special is hands down, one of the funniest nights of television. He’s on point with the jokes and always has a hilarious star-studded skit to share.

This year, Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum stopped by to chat about their upcoming film and Mr. Foxx was so inspired by his friendship with Tatum, he couldn’t help but sing to the world about it.

Jimmy Kimmel jumped in for a verse or two and that’s when things got a little bit awkward!

The song is entitled, “Channing Your Tatum,” and you’ll never be able to look at People’s Sexiest Man Alive the same way after hearing it!

While her dresses all garnered praise, many women were wondering how to get her make-up look for themselves. It is possible, even easy, without the help of a professional.

STEP 1: Foundation Adele starts with a palette of nice, smooth skin that is well hydrated. Even if your skin is not quite so clear, Sephora’s Instant Airbrush Foundation ($9.00) will help smooth you out and give you an approximation of Adele’s look. It includes a dial that you can adjust for heavy to light coverage.

STEP 2: Bronzer & Blush To compliment her coloring, Adele veers towards pinks and browns. Recreate it with Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder($8.95). Adele the crease down the middle of her face in a dark bronzer and the lower part of her cheek bones with a healthy dusting of pink blush.

STEP 3: False Lashes A big part of getting the Adele look is layering on thick, Motown-esque false lashes. If you’re really, really not ready for that step, try out Lancôme’s Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascarain Black ($24.99). After the initial application, powder your lashes and apply a second coat.

STEP 4: Black Eye Liner + Brown Eyebrow Pencil Her eyes are always the centerpiece of Adele’s look, but they’re surprisingly simple. For the Oscars, Adele went with a simple black liquid liner around the entire eye that is embellished with a black shadow to create a controlled smudge under the eye and definition on the lid. Use Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black ($18.38) to keep the tears from smudging you up and wing the eye at the edges. Then take an eyeliner brush and smudge a bit of L’Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadowin Burning Black ($4.99) at the bottom outside corner of each eye. Finish off by using that same eyeshadow on the crease in your upper lid.

Finish off your Adele eye look by filling in your brows with Revlon’s Brown Fantasy Pencil($7.10).

STEP 5: Plump, Matte Lips Since Adele plays her eyes up so much, she tends to keep her lips natural. Create a base color with added lip volume by using Laura Mercier Lip Plumperin Bronzed Berry ($30.00). Avoid glosses at all costs.

The Oscars may be over, but now comes the fun part. Carson and Producer Angie are breaking down the awards ceremony and dishing about their favorite parts.

First things first, they had to settle who won the battle of the bets.

This year, Carson eked by with a win, accurately predicting four out of the five major categories. Producer Angie wasn’t too far behind, with 3 correct out of five.

Now that we’ve got that business out of the way, there’s one moment everyone’s talking about at the water cooler this morning. Jennifer Lawrence and her endearing tumble up the stairs on the way to accept her Best Actress Oscar.

“Jennifer Lawrence is the new bright spot in Hollywood,” Carson declared. “This girl can just do no wrong. Even falling, which is probably everybody, girl or guy’s, biggest nightmare. She couldn’t have handled it better. Every speech now, she’s like how Anne Hathaway was four or five years ago…Normal!”

“She could have easily fallen out of her dress,” Producer Angie added. “The way that she stepped on it, it could’ve gotten bad.”

Bonus points go to Hugh Jackman for rushing to help Lawrence get back on her feet, but she recovered like a champ!

Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane hosted the show for the first time and got some pretty mixed reviews if you were following Twitter throughout the evening.

“Seth MacFarlane, I thought was good. I liked how he came out and got that kind of applause break for his very first joke about Tommy Lee Jones. I thought, ‘Okay, we’re off to a nice start,’” Carson told Producer Angie. “He didn’t seem nervous. He was very under control. Told some good jokes. I liked the way the first ten minutes went before the Shatner bit came on. And it just went on forever and all of a sudden it turned into like this 35-45 minute-long open.”

“I feel like Seth could’ve just opened up the show, warmed up the room. We all know it’s the toughest job in Hollywood. He got some really good laughs. That room seemed to be, I don’t know, on TV it played like they were laughing at his jokes and then just brought up the first presenter. We didn’t need all that extra stuff.”

“Is William Shatner hip again?” Producer Angie asked. “I was confused. I didn’t understand that.”

The show seemed to drag on in the middle during some of the less exciting categories.

“I like that they support documentary and short-form filmmaking. I think that’s important, but honestly, we just don’t need editing and sound mixing and score and cinematography,” Carson pointed out.

“There were about four awards in a row that I, because I watched it a little bit later, that I just fast forwarded through,” Producer Angie admitted. “You zone out.”

“They start with like Best Supporting Actor. I mean, it started off strong, first like hour you hook us and then it just loses you in the middle,” said Carson.

One moment that grabbed Carson’s full attention was one very special pair of presenters.

“My favorite part of the night was Ted,” he said. “I really enjoyed that.”

“How’d they do that? He like walked out and climbed up the stool! And his mouth was moving, it was amazing! Was it a remote control? Animatronic?” Carson wondered out loud. “I almost don’t want to know. It’s like Santa Claus. Gifts appear, cookies gone, good enough for me!”
